Was it one of the first birds to become flightless or was it a flightless bird?   4. what i learnt in class is that moa birds are flightless and also tall they are very tall they are 12 feet tall. The moa birds were one of the tallest animal on earth. Moa bird died from humans because they were hunted down and then they became extinct.

  6. The extinction of the Moa bird was very unfortunate. I wonder if any of the Maori people decided to farm them? You know, like how farmers farm sheep and cattle? Hmm...just one of the questions that popped into my head while we were learning about The Moa. As well as the Moa, the Haast bird (the moa's predator) later became extinct too. Did anyone research on this bird?

  7. The rhinoceros is one of the most endangered animals on the planet, hunters are responsible for killing are beloved rhinos for their horns to be used for human and animal medicine, the horns can be sold for $300,000. The horns of a rhino is believed to cure cancer and hangovers.

  8. What I've learnt is that moa birds are flightless birds and that they were the most tallest birds.They also are heavy and have no wings.They were so safe that they didn't have any real predator only the Haast eagle,but that was before human's arrived in New Zealand

  10. The haast eagle/ harpagornis moreel is the biggest eagle to be discovered. Its head measures up to 130 mm (13 cm). The body length of this ferocious predator measures up to 1.4 meters. Adults stand 90 cm tall.It could weigh up to 15 kilos. The haast eagle had a wingspan of 3 meters.

  13. What i learnt about the Moa bird ,is that the moa bird was a unique bird,because it was the worlds tallest bird. And the Moa bird was a flightless bird.

  14. Hello awesome facts i'm from Papatoetoe intermediate I use to come here when I was 5 but left when I was 7 and here's wat a moa bird is. The Moa were 9 species (in six genera) of flightless birds endemic to NZ. The two largest species Dinornis robustus and Dinornis novaezelandiae, reached about 3.6 m(12 ft) in height with neck outstretched and weighed about 230 kg (510 pounds). By Joshua Daniel Etuati Fili
